Every quarter, as one of our team-building exercises at Learnkit, we’ve committed to scheduling an activity for the team to learn something new together. So far we’ve learned to make our own bitters, improve our culinary skills and next week we are going to visit an escape room for the first time (wish us luck!). We’ve found that this not only helps us get to know each other better, but we also get the chance to develop as individuals in new competencies.
Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow. – Ronald E. Osborn
One of the main drivers of happiness and job fulfillment is personal growth and mastery. People that are happiest at work find ways to develop their soft and technical skills day after day. By getting out of your comfort zone, applying yourself to new challenges and learning on the job you’re rewarded with the feeling of accomplishment and a greater sense of purpose.
We wanted to encourage you to use this year to learn all the things. To help you commit to learning new things this year, we’ve created this handy free weekly learning calendar.
Download the calendar and print it out to use as a reminder of your learning goals. Write down and track one thing you’ve learned each week. By the end of the year, you’ll have a visual representation of your annual personal development. Share the document with your colleagues and friends and commit to the weekly learning challenge together!
